Remakri Waterfall is a small waterfall located in the Remakri Union of Thanchi Upazila. This is a very remote area within the Bandarban District of Bangladesh. In order to reach Remakri Waterfalls you must rent a engine driven boat from Thanchi. It takes two and a half hours to reach at Remakri. The waterfalls is actually the Sangu river itself with higher slope so if you want to see its beauty then the best time is just after the monsoon as it becomes full of water during the season. Night staying is possible at Remakri bazar. There are lots of indegenous people are living by the river side at Remakri. You have to contact them for a lodge. They arrange homemade foods and home staying at their houses. Please note that there are no hotels in this remove mountainous region.
Things to do
People general stay at Remakri while visiting the nearby Nafakhum, Amiakhum, Velakhum and Tinamsaiter so there are not many things to do at Remakri but you can still pass a very good day by doing the followings:
- You can meet those indeginious people at the remakri bazar and know about their culture and living.
- You can have a nice bath at the shallow Sangu river.
- You can walk around the riverside to enjoy the greenery and the tranquility of the mountains.
