What to do in Tanguar Haor?
During the monsoon, the haor fills with the water. July to November is the best time for travelers. You can enjoy houseboat, swamp forest, meghalaya hills and the endless water-land. Generally its better to take 2 days to completely enjoy the beauty of Tanguar Haor. We suggest you to spend at least one night at the floating boat and enjoy the real beauty of this boat.
Visit the watch tower to see the birds-eye view of the haor. You can swim in the haor with friends and enjoy the freeness of life. If you are a bird enthusiast and a nature lover then the place is just for you. Huge numbers of birds arrive at the haor during the winter and they are diverse in nature. This time the haor become a wetland with a full of eye catching green rice plants surroundings, which would defiantly breeze your mind.
How to go?
Tanguar haor is located in the Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj district. If you travel from Dhaka then you have to reach sunamganj by bus. Tanguar haor has no direct flight or train route. Most feasible way is to reach Sylhet by Bus, Train or Plane then hire a CNG or book a local bus to reach at Sunamganj.
Where to stay?
There are lots of hotels motels near by the Tanguar Haor. Price increases during the monsoon as so many travelers reach there so it is better to fix a hotel and houseboat before you reach. Be sure to negotiate regarding price before you book them.
